2nd Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Maggie's 2nd Birthday. Let me just start by saying, I think lightening struck the night she turned 2 because she has developed quite the a-t-t-i-t-u-d-e!

This year, I went with a library/bookworm theme. I purchased old-school library cards and pockets on ebay.

Since we had a big party the weekend before, I figured I should keep Maggie's party to just family so that I didn't have a nervous breakdown.

I packed brown-bag lunches for Jack, Maggie and Mary Kate.

I kept the decorations very simple.

The food was simple, as well.

Can we talk about these cupcakes? How great are they? I did however break my number one rule and had colored icing. It was a bit of a mess with the kids. A few pieces of clothing are at the dry cleaners as we speak :)

For the party favors, I came across a quote that I felt was appropriate for this theme and put it on a bookmark for each guest.

Ok, this is a really long post now. Hopefully, you are still with me since I have limited words on here ;)

The bounce house already paid for itself!

Maggie is wearing a dress. Her dress is tucked into her bloomers so that she doesn't miss a beat in the bounce house.

Uncle Lyle, I mean, Elise ;)
My pictures of Maggie blowing out the candle were terrible. It kills me just thinking about it!

At the end of the party, my mother-in-law asked me when the next party was! I quickly replied, "March 2012!" I have to admit, I am a bit partied out. However, as much as it wears me out, I do enjoy pulling together all of the details and spending time with our family!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Maggie!

Oh, my goodness! That is the cutest 2-year-old party theme I've ever seen! Great throwback to classic library artifacts! Love it! Love it! Love it! And you have such a cutie pie, too! Thank you for sharing. I hope that everybody had a blast!

Those cupcakes are too cute! Did you design them yourself or does the recipe exist somewhere? Love, love, love!

Hi there,
My husband is graduating soon and I love the idea of putting bookworms on the candy apples for the graduation theme.

Could you please write and let m eknow how you achieved this? It would make my day. Thanks!

Warmest regards,
Fayeruz

I'm also doing a bookworm theme for my 2 year old. Can you share how you did the worm on the cupcake? They are adorable!
Thanks!
